Hello!
In two days I will be greeting my first classroom of children as a lower elementary (ages 6-9) classroom assistant. The classroom guide (let's call her Ms. Pine) completed her training two years ago and this will be her second year with this class. She has planned many changes from last year in the classroom and is anticipating some challenges as the year begins. We have 11 new students this year, some with Montessori experience, most appeared to have an extraordinarily difficult time in public kindergarten.
My name is Emily and I am an AMI trained Montessori guide for ages 3-6. I graduated from my training program in May this year. What a trek that was! I'll share that story another time.
I am thankful for this experience to be in the classroom where the children will be after they leave my classroom (when I start teaching). I am also going to co-teach in some regards, especially with the younger students in writing and reading. I can hardly wait and yet there isn't enough time to finish preparing!
